Monteverde

The area of Monteverde, which encompasses the Santa Elena Reserve and the Eternal Forest of the Children, is considered one of the main wonders of Costa Rica with a community of five thousand people dedicated to agricultural, cattle and ecotourism work. Its great biodiversity turns it into one of the best forest areas to visit.

Only three hours from San José through Route 27, driving past Puntarenas, you connect to the Panamerican Route (1). In the maps, find the deviation towards Sardinal (606) and, from there,you will soon be in Monteverde. You also have access from Guanacaste, driving through Las Juntas de Abangares, Tilarán, and other secondary roads that have improved in recent years, although their  condition varies depending  on the weather, especially during the rainy season.
